Andrology Lab Workshop

The Andrology Laboratory Workshop (ALW) Committee of the American Society of Andrology (ASA) invites you to share your expertise during the 2025 ASA-ICA joint Andrology Conference, by attending 2025 ALW meeting focused on

 “Automation vs Manual Testing: Choices for Clinical Andrology and Embryology Laboratories”.

The ALW, mostly organized prior to annual ASA meeting, is held every year for the past almost 35 years with a focus on imparting new knowledge and improving the quality of pertinent lab procedures. This upcoming ALW meeting will be special as it is celebrating 50th anniversary of ASA in conjunction with International Society of Andrology (ISA). It will run on 29th March 2025 from 8:30am to 4:30pm with two broad sessions related to Andrology and Embryology practices based upon the above-mentioned theme.

These sessions will have discussions to enhance our knowledge related to:

  • Improved semen analysis with focus on manual versus automated methodologies along with North American and European Regulatory Guidelines.
  • Evaluations of oxidative stress, leukocytospermia, sperm DNA fragmentation with clinical implications.
  • The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into selective Andrology laboratory tests and options used by modern ART labs using variety of hands on and virtual exercises.
  • Fresh and cryopreserved ejaculated and testicular sperm extraction, identification and processing methods to improve assisted conception including ICSI.
  • Standardized semen analysis and quality control management for FDA guided multicenter male reproductive toxicology clinical trials.

Intended Audience:

Reproductive health professionals including reproductive endocrinology & urology residents, fellows, trainees and faculties, andrology and embryology laboratory management and testing staff who want to learn about new methods and options.

Considering this to be a joint ASA-ICA workshop, it will be a wonderful occasion to build a global network for future exchange of expertise and collaborations.
